The Lily Garden Child Care Center Hosts Author Program: Well-known Children’s Author, Jim Aylesworth to visit June 28

The Lily Garden Child Care Center at Easter Seals DuPage Fox Valley Region continues their Author Program this summer.  As a part of their ‘Make the First Five Count’ campaign, The Lily Garden hopes that the Author Program will aid children younger than five to obtain the support and skills they need to be school ready.  Previous authors who visited include Suzanne Slade, Beth Finke and Kevin Luthhardt.

On June 28 well-known and local children’s author, Jim Aylesworth will be the latest guest of The Lily Garden Author Program.  The program is open to the public and will begin at 3 p.m. Toursof the Easter Seals and Lily Garden facilities will be available to those who are interested.  

Cookies from Sweet Tomatoes will be served while the Aylesworth reads and signs his books. The author’s popular titles include “Hush!”, “Our Abe Lincoln”, “The Mitten”, and “Old Black Fly.”  

Visits  made by children’s authors occur on a monthly basis.  The authors read to the children, sign books and spend time with the children in The Lily Garden Child Care Center at Easter Seals.  The purpose of the Author Program is to encourage children and families at Easter Seals and in the community to read more at home.
